January 4 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join the Scarlet Chess Super Series this holiday season! Hosted by the Scarlet Chess Club, this first-ever hybrid championship in Arkansas offers a $550 guaranteed prize fund, and it’s open to everyone. The series includes three stages, culminating in an Over-The-Board (OTB) Grand Final at Arkansas State University. All events, including the Grand Final, will be broadcast with commentary on the Scarlet Chess Club’s Twitch Channel. https://www.twitch.tv/scarletchessclub

The series kicks off with two Chess.com arenas on December 28 and January 4. These are 2-hour, 5+3 blitz chess events with a mere $5 entry fee and identity verification to prevent cheating. The top 3 players from each arena qualify for the Championship. To join, fill out a Google Form and send your entry fee via PayPal.

Next is the Online Qualifier Round Robin. The dates will be set soon, very likely to be spread out over 5 weekends with online play+webcams and screen sharing on the device for fair play. From this round, the top 4 players advance to the OTB Grand Final. The winner of this round gets $30 and picks their first-round opponent in the Grand Final, while the second-place finisher receives $20.

The OTB Grand Final (USCF rated) on March 16-17, 2024, will determine the SCSS Champion. The semi-finals and finals feature a best-of-3 series of 15+10 games, with Armageddon tiebreaks. Prizes are $300 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd, and $50 each for 3rd/4th place winners.

Register soon! Entry deadlines are 11:59 pm on December 27 for the December 28 arena and January 3 for the January 4 arena. The events start at 9 am on Chess.com. Don’t miss your chance to compete and win cash prizes in this exciting chess series!
